Mapeamento dos índices da (des)igualdade de gênero por unidade da federação no Brasil

Abstract

RESUMO: Medir quantitativamente o quão desigual é a situação das mulheres em relação aos homens é uma iniciativa empreendida por organizações internacionais, destacam-se os esforços da ONU e da World Economic Forum (WEF). A ONU introduziu duas medidas no Relatório de Desenvolvimento Humano em 1995: o Gender-related Development Index (GDI) e o Gender Empowerment Measure (GEM), e a WEF criou o GGGI - Global Gender Gap Index em 2006. Embora estes índices sejam multidimensionais, ao final, é gerado um único valor para o país inteiro. A igualdade entre homens e mulheres é uma das condições para que o crescimento sustentável de um país se torne realidade e é importante a disponibilização de dados públicos de fontes seguras para que exista difusão de informação e que sejam de fácil entendimento e divulgação para a população em geral. Há propostas nacionais de índices de avaliação da desigualdade de gênero por unidade da federação: INDG e IMDG. O objetivo deste trabalho é desenvolver um site com um mapa interativo que mostre os diferentes índices de (des)igualdade de gênero por unidade da federação. O sistema se encontra online, em que é possível se escolher o mapa com certa interatividade via mouse.

ABSTRACT: Measuring quantitatively how unequal the situation of women is in relation to men is an initiative undertaken by international organizations, the efforts of the UN and the World Economic Forum (WEF) stand out. The UN introduced two measures in the Human Development Report in 1995: the Gender-related Development Index (GDI) and the Gender Empowerment Measure (GEM), and the WEF created the GGGI - Global Gender Gap Index in 2006. Although these indices are multidimensional, in the end, a single value is generated for the entire country. Equality between men and women is one of the conditions for the sustainable growth of a country to become a reality and it is important to make public data available from reliable sources so that there is dissemination of information and that they are easy to understand and disseminate to the population. There are national proposals for assessment indices of gender inequality by federation unit: INDG and IMDG. The objective of this work is to develop a website with an interactive map that shows the different (inequality) indices of gender by federation unit. The system is online, where it is possible to choose the map with some interactivity via mouse.
