O uso de materiais manipuláveis no processo de ensino e aprendizagem de matemática nos anos finais do ensino fundamental

Abstract

RESUMO: Analisa o uso dos materiais manipuláveis na disciplina de matemática e a aprendizagem significativa nos anos finais do ensino fundamental. Descreve o que são materiais manipuláveise as vantagens da sua utilização. Mapeia as discussões em torno da aplicação de materiais manipuláveis no ensino de matemática nos anos finais do ensino e relaciona a aplicação de materiais manipuláveis e a interação e o interesse pela matemática. A questão problematizadora que movimentou a pesquisa foi: como o uso de materiais manipuláveis no processo de ensino aprendizagem da matemática interfere na aprendizagem significativa de estudantes nos anos finais do ensino fundamental? Baseia-se em uma abordagem qualitativa, exploratória, do tipo estudo de caso. Conclui-se que os materiais manipuláveis podem contribuir para tornar a disciplina mais atrativa e motivadora, reduzindo distorções que ainda a caracterizam como um empecilho à assimilação de suas temáticas.

ABSTRACT: It analyzes the use of manipulative materials in the discipline of mathematics and meaningful learning in the final years of elementary school. It describes what are manipulable materials and the advantages of using them. It maps the discussions around the application of manipulative materials in the teaching of mathematics in the final years of education and relates the application of manipulative materials and the interaction and interest in mathematics. The problematizing question that moved the research was: how does the use of manipulative materials in the teaching-learning process of mathematics interfere in the meaningful learning of students in the final years of elementary school? It is based on a qualitative, exploratory, case study approach. It is concluded that manipulative materials can contribute to making the discipline more attractive and motivating, reducing distortions that still characterize it as an obstacle to the assimilation of its themes.
